Having said that, there are crucial issues of an organisation that need to be mastered, monitored and updated every now and then. Issues to so with employment, team building, change management and continuous improvement are critical components of the system that needs to be performed.
A social unit of people that is structured and managed to meet a need or to pursue collective goals. All organizations have a management structure that determines relationships between the different activities and the members, and subdivides and assigns roles, responsibilities, and authority to carry out different tasks. Organizations are open systems they affect and are affected by their environment.
We have trained quite a number of organizations and the main issue that continuously surface is declining sales performance. On assessment of what might be causing the decline, we found out that quite a number of the employees doing certain tasks do not even know how the tasks should be executed. It is therefore imperative in business that when you decide to employ, it should be purely based on merit and not nepotism or other social linkages.
Employing based on relationships that exist had proved not only to be unprofessional but causing the unfortunate things to happen in the companies, that is poor performance.
In any organisation, nothing beats a coherent and well orchestrated team that collectively works towards the attainment of the organisation objectives. It is understood that, when a team is assembled, there are some moments of storming just after the forming stage according to psychologist Bruce Tuckman. It takes a smart manager to deal with such issues for they affect the smooth flow of work and ultimately eat on production and targets.
An astute manager should lead the team through the stages pronounced by Bruce until the team reaches the performing stage. Indeed there are teams that are assembled for the purposes of a specific task and then get disbanded (adjourned). All this should be dealt with so that no time is wasted at the storming stage at the expense of production.
